This little Japanese girl in her bathing suit and cap has been on the go for some time now. She taunts me with a little mischievous smile, she knows she is the bane of my painting days. But I will get the last laugh. Currently she is a chaotic mixture of dozens of layers of acrylic paint, house paint, graphite and chalk. She started the way most of the others do; random markings repeated layer upon layer until an image appears in my head. Then the joy of blocking out begins. The result is an image that incorporates the random markings and a mix of wild textures and colours. I don’t consider myself a painter, nor this anywhere near a masterpiece; but I have a blast and that’s all that counts.
